Browlift

A browlift or a "forehead lift" is a procedure that restores a more youthful and refreshed look to the upper third of the face. The procedure corrects drooping brows and improves the horizontal lines and furrows that can give an angry, sad, or tired look to a person's face.

Typically, small incisions (about half inch) are made inside the hair-bearing area of the scalp, just behind the hairline. An endoscope (a camera) is inserted into the forehead area just under the skin. Certain muscles and tissues that cause the furrowing or drooping are removed or altered to smooth the forehead, raise the eyebrows and minimize frown lines.

A browlift is most commonly performed in people between the ages of 40 to 60 to minimize the visible effects of aging. However, this procedure may also be for people of any age who have developed deep furrows or frown lines due to stress or hyperactive muscles of facial expression. Individuals who have inherited a low, heavy brow or furrowed lines above the nose can achieve a much more refreshed look with this procedure.

browlift is often performed together with upper eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty), and can also be done together as part of a complete facial rejuvenation surgery which can include a facelift, dermabrasion, and fat injections to the face.
